7 March, sunny
Today I rewrote something I had written last week. The second time went far faster and far steadier.
The first time, my head was only on “finishing it”. The second time I began to see details — what was padded, what was vague, what could be better. So that is what lies between “can do it” and “know it by heart”: repetitions.
Repetition doesn’t drain you; repetition is where fluency grows. Hands remembering before the head does is a good thing.
Do something carefully twice, and by the third time you are no longer the person you were.
One small thing, repeated once. That’s all for today.
