5 March, windy
I ran three kilometres today for the first time. Slowly — I even stopped and walked twice. My legs were heavy at the end, but something in me was bright.
I have no intention of comparing paces with anyone. Someone else’s five kilometres has nothing to do with me; my three have something to do with me — last week I couldn’t finish one.
Three things done today
- Ran three kilometres (pace irrelevant)
- Did not sit down halfway
- Stretched afterwards
Slow doesn’t matter; still moving doesn’t matter either. The hard part is not going faster — it is putting your shoes on again tomorrow.
Progress is not speeding up. It is not stopping that day.
A note for whoever I am later.
