11 March, rain
The thing I had been working on didn’t work out. When the result came, something dropped in my chest, and then I didn’t want to speak for the rest of the night.
Today is the day after the failure. I didn’t force myself to cheer up. I did only two things: went back through the whole process, and then deleted the words “I can’t” from my head.
The review tells me what can be changed; deleting those three words is what lets me try again. A failure says that this attempt didn’t work — it does not say that I am no good. The two are easy to confuse, and the confusion is expensive.
Fall down, stand up. It is never the legs that fail to get up — it is the thought that already sentenced you.
Tomorrow I go on. This time I won’t ask about the result; I’ll only watch the actions.
